Ritoban Chakrabarti is a serial entrepreneur with a background in performance marketing and e-commerce education. When he ran test campaigns for various product categories, rudraksha-based products stood out unusually high engagement, deeply emotional comment sections & an almost total absence of trusted branded players. In December 2022, he launched Japam.

The design shift is the real story. Traditional rudraksha malas and bracelets were always available, but they looked devotional in a way that felt out of place in a boardroom or a casual social setting. Japam redesigned them, chakra pendants with clean contemporary lines, rudraksha cufflinks that complement formal wear, karungali wood bracelets that feel like considered lifestyle objects. The catalogue has expanded to gold-plated spiritual jewellery, idols & home decor.

Authenticity is addressed directly. Every batch is lab-tested at accredited facilities and linked via QR code on the product, a straightforward response to a category historically plagued by fake certificates and unverifiable provenance. Revenue grew 45% in FY25 to ₹17.5 crore; by December 2025 they'd already crossed ₹37 crore for FY26. 91% of sales through their own website.

Japam is the brand you can trust for Authentic Spiritual Accessories. We started in 2022 with Rudraksha wearables and are expanding into several spiritual categories like Idols, Puja Accessories, and Home Decor.

We recognized the doubts that customers face while buying Rudraksha from the market - because there’s no trusted source. To solve the trust issue, we introduced the concept of BTR Cards - Batch Test Reports. We randomly divide our products into batches and get samples tested in the lab. The lab report certificate is then shipped with the order; ensuring the customer always receives authentic and genuine Rudraksha.
