Sirohi and its nonprofit sister organisation, Skilled Samaritan Foundation (SSF), split the work cleanly. SSF mobilises and trains rural women artisans, work it has done since 2012, while Sirohi itself, a for-profit company set up in 2021, handles the marketing and sourcing of what they make. Founder Gauri Gopal built Sirohi on top of nearly a decade of SSF's ground-level artisan training rather than starting the design side from scratch.

The range runs from handwoven storage baskets and trays to furniture and corporate gifting pieces, made mostly from upcycled plastic and textile waste by artisan clusters spread across five states. It reads closer to a design studio's output than typical "NGO craft" positioning, which is the gap Sirohi has explicitly built toward.

Worth knowing: pieces are handwoven to order across a network of artisan clusters rather than mass-produced in one facility, so lead times run longer than a factory-made equivalent, and the two-entity structure (nonprofit trains, for-profit sells) is worth understanding if a buyer goes looking for "who owns this."
