The Thatheras of Jandiala Guru in Amritsar have been hand-beating copper and brass for centuries, a craft recognised by UNESCO as part of India's intangible cultural heritage and one with a shrinking base of practitioners. P•TAL built its cookware range around keeping that craft in daily use rather than behind glass.

The tawas, kadhais, and patilas are tin-lined for food safety, and P•TAL sells a DIY kalai kit so the lining can be redone at home instead of replacing the pot, with the lining itself lasting roughly ten to twelve months of regular use by the brand's own account.

Worth knowing: the Ayurvedic framing (copper to balance, brass to strengthen) leans further into philosophy than most buyers will verify, and hand-beaten cookware costs more than the mass-produced steel version of the same tawa.

Best for: cooks who want traditional metal cookware they'll actually use daily rather than display, and anyone drawn to a craft with a real preservation story behind it.
