Akriti Gupta spent over a decade building children's product businesses before starting Loopie. She built Tiny Toddler, helped build the children's category at Udaan, and co-built Jollee, a curated kids marketplace. By the time she became a parent, she had more industry knowledge than almost anyone in the category. What she found when she went looking for a stroller was the same thing every informed Indian parent finds: expensive imports not designed for Indian roads and apartments, or cheap local alternatives that cut corners on safety and materials.

Loopie launched in 2025 with a focused range: the Loopie Hop stroller, a car seat, a diaper bag, and a few accessories. The stroller is the centrepiece and the clearest expression of what the brand is trying to do. One-hand fold for apartment living, suspension built for Indian road surfaces, six colourways. The design was developed in collaboration with Morrama, a design and engineering studio with knowledge of the Indian market, and the brand raised $1.6 million in initial funding.

On Shark Tank India, Akriti received two offers and turned both down, unwilling to accept the valuation being offered. That decision is worth noting. At this stage, a brand declining Shark Tank money is either overconfident or genuinely certain about what it's building. Given the depth of Akriti's category experience, it reads more like the latter.

The honest context: Loopie is a very young brand, launched in 2025, with three core products. The product quality has drawn strong early reviews, but the brand has limited visibility outside its early adopter base and the range is still thin. Whether the business scales to match the product ambition is the next two to three years' question.

Best for: Parents of infants and toddlers looking for a premium Indian-made stroller and baby gear that takes Indian conditions seriously.
