Manish and Akshika Poddar founded The House of Rare in 2015 under their family's Radhamani Textiles business. The brand house now operates three lines: Rare Rabbit (menswear), Rareism (womenswear), and Rare Ones (kidswear, launched 2024), with a footwear line, Rare'Z, added alongside. Every product is manufactured in India.

Rare Rabbit is the most distinctive. The menswear occupies the ₹1,500–₹4,500 range for shirts, trousers and knitwear, and the design language is genuinely considered structured without being stiff, contemporary without being trend-dependent. The quality of fabric and construction at the price is consistently strong, which is why the brand has 1,100+ retail touchpoints and a loyal repeat base.

Rareism, the womenswear arm, has been building a quieter but steady identity: wearability-first silhouettes in earthy and neutral palettes, designed for women who want to look put-together without being overdressed. Seven years old as of 2026 and increasingly confident in its aesthetic.

The honest note: The House of Rare is an omnichannel brand with a large offline footprint, not a scrappy D2C. 40% D2C, 60% marketplaces and retail. For customers, this means consistent quality and wide availability, but less of the founder-to-consumer intimacy you get with smaller brands.

The House of Rare is a Fashion Power House. We design, manufacture and retail men's and women’s apparel under the Brand Names: Rare Rabbit and Rareism. We thrive on creating exuberant, thoughtful, and a variety of product offerings in the Indian Retail Fashion Space.
