Mohit Kumar and Vatsal Singhal previously co-founded Runnr, a food delivery startup acquired by Zomato. They left that exit and went deep into a harder problem: why do smart, health-aware people still feel consistently under par despite tracking their sleep and steps? Their answer was metabolic health, specifically the relationship between glucose, sleep, stress and recovery, and how almost no consumer device was measuring any of it meaningfully.

Ultrahuman launched in 2020 with a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) called the M1, followed by the Ultrahuman Ring Air, a smart ring that tracks sleep, recovery, heart rate variability, skin temperature, and movement without a screen or subscription. The two devices work together to build what the brand calls a metabolic health ecosystem, arguably the most integrated personal health platform built by an Indian company. $103M raised from Nexus Venture Partners, Steadview, and Blume Ventures. The Ring is sold at Selfridges in London, Virgin Megastore in Dubai, and as of 2024, in retail across the US.

The honest context: Ultrahuman is premium, the Ring starts at around ₹25,000, and the audience is genuinely niche, health-focused professionals who think seriously about their bodies. It is not a mass market product. But for that audience, nothing else built in India comes close.

Best for: Health-conscious buyers who have outgrown step counters and want to understand their body's actual performance data.
