The origin story is real. Co-founder Aayushi Khandelwal turned to her grandmother's recipes when her own health deteriorated, found the results transformative, and decided the problem was structural. Indian food had been over-processed into something that looked healthy but wasn't. In 2019, she founded Anveshan with Akhil Kansal & Kuldeep Parewa to fix that through backward integration and radical transparency.

The A2 bilona ghee is genuinely different from what you'll find at most supermarkets. Made using the traditional curd-churning method (bilona), sourced from desi cow farms, and cold-processed, the texture and aroma are noticeably richer. The wood-pressed oils (mustard, coconut, sesame) are similarly sourced with care. Every product carries a QR code linking to its batch report so you can verify exactly where it came from.

The honest catch: Anveshan is priced at a premium, and some customers find it difficult to justify over conventional ghee. The ghee runs ₹800–₹1,200 for 500ml depending on the variant. If you're comparing to supermarket ghee at ₹400, the gap is real. But if you're comparing to imported or boutique wellness products, Anveshan is actually competitive. Backed by Wipro Consumer Care, DSG Consumer Partners, Aman Gupta (boAt), and Sameer Mehta. Revenue crossed ₹100 crore in FY25.

Best for: households that care deeply about what's cooking, particularly for ghee, oils & honey where the sourcing difference is most tangible.
